The studio's own identity
The name, the mark, the two reds, and the two faces.
THE MARK, SCREENED
AM HALFTONE · CELL 13 · 15° · VOID ON PAPERKILN needed a name, a mark and a way of speaking before it could ask anyone else to trust it with theirs. The mark is a sun disc: a solid ground inside a struck ring, with sixteen rays cut out around it. It was drawn once and has not been redrawn since.
Two reds do two jobs and never swap. Vermilion belongs to the mark and is never used as a field; ember does the accenting everywhere else. Switzer at 900 carries anything that has to be seen from across a room, Fragment Mono carries anything that has to be read as a record.
窯, kiln in one character, is the studio's name set as an object rather than as type. It is printed the way everything else here is printed: screened, in one ink, on paper.
